Hey Guys! So this is my first ever book review post! I’m super excited to share all my thoughts on these books with you and if you’ve read ’em, let me know your thoughts! Finding online library apps to let you read the books for free is a fantastic way to save money rather than purchasing all of these! So for this month, I managed to read 7 books. The first one is…
This book catches your attention from the start. The main character wakes up from a fall at the gym thinking she’s 10 years younger than she actually is. She doesn’t remember her kids, her friends, or the reason for her divorce. She tries to find herself in her new, sophisticated life but has a hard time figuring out why her life is so different now. It’s a very easy read with a decent ending. I would give it a 7.5/10.
The second book I read was Behind Closed Doors. We read this book for our book club this month and it sure was a twisty story. The main character and her husband tend to have a perfect life. They have one of the most beautiful homes in the area, her husband is a lawyer (who never loses a case), and they get along so well, or so they portray. I don’t want to give too much away but this book will open your eyes to realize that not everything is always like it seems. I would give it a 9/10.
The third book I read was The Breakdown by B.A. Paris who also wrote Behind Closed Doors. This book also a psychological thriller with tons of drama. The main character starts losing her mind after she passes a car parked in the wood with someone sitting in it and in the morning she finds out the person has been killed (all close to her house). She starts forgetting small things, such as how to work the washing machine and where she parked her car at the mall. She can’t seem to forget about the person who was killed and thinks that’s the reason she’s forgetting everything. Eventually, she connects the pieces and finds out the true reason for her behavior. I would rate it an 8/10.
The fourth book I was a little disappointed. It’s been a hot seller for a while and I was super excited to read it but I was a little letdown. When We Found Home, by Susan Mallery, is about three half-siblings who never met come together to live with their very rich grandfather in a mansion. Trying to see where they all fit in into their new lifestyle, they learn what it means to become a family for the first time. This book seemed a little slow for me and I had a difficult time relating to the characters. I would rate it a 5/10.
Book #5 was The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian. I was also super excited to read this one but it was rather a bore to me, TBH. It’s about a young flight attendant who tends to sleep and party with strangers during her layovers. She wakes up next to a rich man who was murdered while they slept. She then tries to hide the fact that she was with him that night but the truth eventually catches up to her. It’s also tied in with a lot of history which I couldn’t really grasp the point of. I’d give it a 5/10.
The sixth book I read was Windfall by Jennifer Smith. This is definitely a young adult book but there’s just something about how easy these genres are to read! A couple of 18-year-olds buy a lottery ticket and win over 500 million dollars while still in high school. The main character is in love with the friend but he doesn’t know about it. After winning, their lives change and they become people who they never expected to become. This book kind of makes you wonder what would happen if YOU won that lump sum of money. Would you still be the same person you are today? It was a quick, easy read and I’d rate it an 8/10.

The last book for this month was The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware. Yall this book was super good! The main character is a ‘hot mess’ dealing with her own personal issues when she gets on a small cruise boat for work. She believes there was a murder in the room next to her, but when she calls security they show her the room and it’s spotless with no one in there. No one seems to believe her but she is determined to find the truth. 9/10.
